Indian Railways: The Ministry of Railways has given great relief to the passengers traveling by train. It has been decided to reduce the fare of Vande Bharat train and AC chair car train. In order to allow more passengers to travel in the train, the Ministry of Railways will provide relaxation in the fare of trains with AC seating. For relief, the Ministry will hand over power to Zonal Railways.

How much will the rent be reduced?

After this decision of the Ministry of Railways, the AC chair car, executive class fares of all trains including Vande Bharat will be reduced by 25 percent. The scheme will be applicable in executive class of all AC seating trains including AC chair cars and Abhuti and Vistadome coaches. There will be a maximum discount of up to 25 percent on fares. On the other hand, other charges like reservation charge, super fast surcharge, GST etc., whatever they may be, will be charged separately. Also relaxation will be given according to the category. Trains with 50 percent occupancy during the last 30 days will be considered. After this, fare relaxation will be given in these trains based on occupancy.

If you are going to book a train ticket to travel somewhere today, you may face a problem, as internet bookings are affected after dinetime activities at the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) data center in Kolkata. Many states will be affected by this. However, it will not be affected in some states. Many jobs are likely to be affected due to closure of PRS.

For how long the booking will be closed

PRS will be closed for a period of three hours and 45 minutes. Passengers will not be able to book their tickets through online mode between 08th July 2023 Saturday 23:45 hrs to 09th July 2023 Sunday 03:30 am.

In which states will PRS be closed?

Stopping online booking will affect many states. It includes West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and parts of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra. Its effect will not be seen in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and other states. Talking about the railway area, it will be on Eastern Railway (ER), South Eastern Railway (SER), East Coast Railway (ECOR), South East Central Railway (SECR), Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) and East Central Railway (ECR) zones.
