Export Ban : Center Prohibits Export Of Non Basmati White Rice Amid Price Hike

Rice Export Ban Update: The price of tomato is causing havoc across the country. The price of tomato has increased to such an extent that it has become difficult for the common people to eat it, but the small markets do not bring tomatoes to sell. The government has taken precautionary measures to prevent a similar situation from arising in rice.

The Government of India has banned the export of non-basmati rice. This order has come into effect with immediate effect. The government has issued an order in this regard. The central government has decided to impose the ban due to the fear of reduced production in view of the damage caused to kharif crops, especially paddy, due to delayed monsoon rains.

According to the Ministry of Food and Consumer Affairs, the central government has decided to revise the export policy to ensure adequate availability in the Indian market and to curb the rising prices of non-basmati rice in the domestic market. It has been decided to ban the export of non-basmati rice with immediate effect, exempting it from 20 percent export duty.

The government itself has admitted that the price of rice is increasing. The retail market has seen an increase of 11.5 per cent in rice prices in the last one year, while a three per cent jump has been seen in a month. So the Modi government has taken this decision as part of a precautionary measure.

It is known that the monsoon has duly arrived in the state including Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, the prices of ginger, green chillies and coriander have seen a big jump in the vegetable market. The price of Bangalore ginger has reached Rs 200 to Rs 220 per kg in the wholesale market, while the price of Satara ginger is Rs 160 to Rs 170 per kg in the wholesale market. The retail price of ginger is Rs. 240 to 300 has reached.

The price of green chillies has been recorded as the highest in the wholesale market. 100 in the wholesale market and 150 in the retail market. The price of coriander has also reached Rs 80 to Rs 100 per kg. Housewives have become disturbed due to the increase in the prices of ginger, coriander, chili after tomato.

The effect of the hot weather is now being seen on the pockets of the common people as well. Tomato prices have doubled in many parts of the country during the last week. Tomato prices in the retail market increased from Rs 80 to Rs 120 per kg. On the other hand, the wholesale price of tomato has increased from Rs 30-35 per kg to Rs 65-70 per kg.
