Bank Five Days Working: Bank employees in India may get an important and happy news. Bank employees across the country may get news of a five-day work week next week. In fact, preparations are now underway for bank employees to get a day off on all Saturdays of the month. A major update may come out in a week in this regard.

Five days work, two days rest –
Currently, banks in India have a holiday every Sunday and every second and fourth Saturday. After this change, the first, third and fifth Saturday of every month will be a bank holiday. In other words, now a week of five working days will be implemented in the bank. Under this, bank employees will work five days every week from Monday to Friday, while they will have two days off on Saturday and Sunday.

An important meeting will be held on July 28 –
According to a report in LiveMint, an important meeting is going to be held on Friday next week, which may seal the bank’s five-day workweek. On July 28, the Indian Bank Association (IBA) is going to hold a meeting with the bank employees’ organization United Forum of Bank Employees. In early May, several news reports said that the IBA and the United Forum of Bank Employees had agreed on a five-day working week.

Bank Union had said this –
The United Forum of Bank Employees said on July 17 that they have proposed a five-day working week for discussion at the next meeting. The IBA has said that it is being actively considered. We have requested the IBA to expedite the matter so that there is no further delay in implementing the new regime for bank employees.

These issues will also be discussed –
According to a CNBC report, the IBA and the United Forum of Bank Employees may also discuss some other issues in the July 28 meeting. Apart from the 5-day work week, the two organizations may also discuss issues such as salary hike and the need for group medical insurance for retired employees in the upcoming meeting.

Working hours will increase –
The government has recently implemented a 5-day work week system in the Life Insurance Corporation of India. After which the long-standing demand to implement it in the bank has also gained momentum. According to news, the daily working hours of bank employees may increase after the implementation of the new system. Under the new system they will have to work from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm i.e. 40 minutes extra every day.
