PM Kisan Yojana: PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the most ambitious scheme launched by the central government for farmers, is emphasizing on consistent completion of e-KYC. In the past, the government did not give the installment of the scheme to farmers who did not get e-KYC done. But still e-KYC of many farmers is not completed. For this, a special campaign is also being conducted in collaboration with the state governments.

Till now the facility of doing e-kyc was available only through OTP or ‘Fingerprint’. But now the e-KYC process can also be completed by scanning the face. Yes, farmers who have registered under the scheme can now complete e-KYC by scanning their face without OTP or ‘fingerprint’. The government has introduced ‘Face Authentication’ facility on mobile application for this.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has introduced a new facility on PM-Kisan mobile app for farmers across the country. Through the PM-Kisan mobile app, remote farmers can complete e-KYC without OTP or fingerprint scanning, a government statement said. A financial benefit of Rs 6,000 is provided in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every year.

The scheme was launched in February 2019. But it is being implemented from December 2018. The 13th installment of PM-KISAN has been disbursed to over 8.1 crore farmers. Now the farmers are waiting for the 14th installment of PM Kisan. It is expected that the 14th installment of the scheme will reach the farmers’ accounts by the end of June.

Farmers can use the ‘No User Status Module’ on the PM Kisan Yojana app to check the sowing status of land, link Aadhaar with bank accounts and e- KYC status can also be known. The Ministry of Agriculture has also assisted the India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) to open Aadhaar-linked bank accounts for beneficiaries at their doorsteps.

Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is an ambitious scheme of the central government, under which farmers are given 6 thousand rupees annually for financial assistance. This amount is given in three installments. One installment is released at an interval of four months.
