According to data released by the ministry, this is the second consecutive month when the number of Aadhaar-based face authentication transactions has crossed 10 million. The number of Aadhaar-based face authentication transactions has continued to grow and increased by 38 percent in May compared to January 2023.

The Aadhaar-based face authentication solution developed by UIDAI is used by 47 institutions, including state government ministries, central government ministries and banks.

Apart from this, verification of beneficiaries of PM Kisan and digital life certificate for pensioners are used to remove it at home. In May, UIDAI executed 14.86 million Aadhaar updates following citizen requests. May witnessed 254 million e-KYC transactions. By the end of May 2023, 15.2 billion Aadhaar e-KYC transactions have been completed. According to the press release, face authentication offers features such as ease of use, faster authentication, along with fingerprint and OTP as an additional means to strengthen the authentication success rate.

According to the release, in May, UIDAI implemented 14.86 million Aadhaar updates following requests from residents. According to the release, more than 254 million e-KYC transactions were done in May alone.
