As many as four one-ways were declared on Yagnik Road by Rajkot Police Commissioner to solve the traffic problem. However, traders are constantly protesting against this decision. After the traders of Jagannath Plot-20 protested about this yesterday, today the traders of Sardarnagar area protested against this announcement and held a foot rally and submitted a complaint to the Commissioner of Police demanding cancellation of oneway.
Traders of New Jagannath protested yesterday
According to the received details, there has been opposition to one more announcement of Rajkot City Police Commissioner. There has been a whirlwind of protest among the shopkeepers after declaring a one-way road and barricading it towards New Jagannath Bazar and Yagnik Road. Yesterday, shopkeepers around the one-way from Yagnik Road to New Jagannath protested by closing their shops and demanding withdrawal of the notification. Then today, traders on Sardarnagar main road collectively protested the announcement of one more one-way.
Locals complain of problems in commuting
A trader said that apart from the main market of Jagnath area, there is also a commercial residential area. Hence the residents here also have to commute several times during the day. So every time one has to go from Yagnik Road towards Dastur Marg or till Kisanpara. Apart from this, where the people who come for shopping keep their vehicles is a big question. Due to which business has been affected. Hence, it has been submitted with the demand that the police commissioner withdraw this one-way notification immediately.
Police are taking various decisions to solve the traffic problem
It is worth mentioning that various decisions are taken by Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava to solve the traffic problem. In which earlier travel buses were banned on the 150 feet ring road. Also, as many as four roads were declared one-way on Yagnik Road of the city. However, the traders are alleging that the problem has increased instead of decreasing due to these measures. It has become necessary for the Commissioner of Police to reconsider the notification issued regarding One-Way.
