People trapped in the Ramnath Mahadev temple between the Aji river in Rajkot were rescued.

The farmers going to the fields were also stuck on the road. People’s life has been affected due to flooding of shops near Jasdan Chowkdi. Dhodapur came in Atkot’s Budhanpari river, Bhadar river, Leadkadi river. A flood-like situation is also seen in Gundala Jasapar village of Panchvada Jivapar Veernagar. In three hours, the roads were blocked in many places due to torrential rain.
Chants of ‘Bachao Bachao’ are resounding
Atkot Jasdan Road became one-way, waterlogged the societies while Gondal-Atkot highway has also been closed due to heavy rains. People are facing a lot of trouble as all the traffic is disrupted due to the overflowing water of Karmal Dam. All the villagers were rescued when the water of Karmal Dam returned to Karmal Pipliya village. Many people were trapped as the water situation was not under control at the Karmal bridge near Mota Dadwa. According to the report, 20 to 25 people bombarded and chanted ‘Bachao Bachao’. No rescue operation has been done yet. The sarpanch of this village, Bhupatbhai, was furious and alleged that no facilities were provided.
Appealed to people not to keep cattle tied
In Rajkot district, areas of Lodhika and Kotda panthak were waterlogged due to heavy rains. Regarding this, District Panchayat President Bhupatbhai Bodar reached the control room and rescue has also been carried out in many affected villages and teams of Fire Department and NDRF have been sent to the affected areas and people have been appealed not to tie up their cattle.

Apart from this, as the Karmal falls under the dam near Big Dadwa, many cows and buffaloes are strained at the Karmal bridge too, which is filled with water. It has come to light that people are shouting ‘Save’ from Agassi as water seeps into the houses of several nearby residents. Due to which, it has been urged not to drive heavy vehicles on the bridge and many helpful people including Bhupatbhai Wala, Sarpanch of Mota Dadwa have reached there for rescue by helicopter. Ikko Gadi got stuck in Baldhoi village as it was raining in all surrounding districts including Mota Dadwa village since 3 o’clock in the morning. On the other hand, Halenda’s Umrali village has become uncontactable.
System in alert mode due to heavy rain
According to District Development Officer Dev Chaudhary, there has been heavy rain in most of the talukas of the district since last night. Kotdasangan, Gondal and Jasdan divisions have received heavy rain. Regarding this, the system is in alert mode and all the officials including District Collector and myself have joined the relief-rescue work with the teams of NDRF and SDRF. Many people have been rescued in places including Halenda, Umrali, Kharchia of Rajkot taluka.
No casualties have been reported yet
Even in Gondal, rescue operations are going on by the provincial authorities along with NDRF teams. At present, rescue operation is going on in Karman Korda village. According to current information, two old houses have collapsed. At present, five to six nearby villages including Halenda of Rajkot taluka have been affected. However, no casualties have been reported as the system has been on alert since last night. As many as 67 people have been rescued and shifted to a safe place since morning. According to which, in the last 24 hours, 69 in Kotda Sangani, 59 in Jamkandorana, 57 in Lodhikama, 46 in Jetpur, 42 in Dhoraji, 30 in Jasdanma, 29 in Gondalma, 23 in Vichiya, 22 in Rajkot, 13 in Paddhari. Average rainfall is 37 mm.
