Shetrunji dam of Palitana taluk of Bhavnagar district is more than 90 percent full. The level of Shetrunji dam has now reached 32 feet 11 inches and still 29615 cusecs of water is starting to flow from upstream in Shetrunji dam, due to which this flow has remained unabated, Shetrunji dam will overflow by evening.
As many as 17 villages were alerted
17 villages under Shetrunji Dam have been alerted due to incessant flow from upstream. In which the people of the villages including Nani Rajsthali, Lapalia, Lakhawad, Maidhar, Mendha and Bhavnagar taluka of Palitana taluka, Janandali, Dantrad, Pingli, Timana, Shewalia, Royal, Makkariya, Talaja, Gorkhi, Liliwav, Tarsara and Sartanpar have been asked to be careful.
Dam only 1 foot empty, overflow at any moment
When the water is released in Shetrunji dam to maintain the level level, the official of the irrigation department said that no one should move in the river bed or in the bank area, the dam will overflow at 34 feet, so now only about 1 foot of the dam is empty, so now in Bhavnagar city-district even without rain, the flood level of the district has reached due to which the feeling of happiness has spread among the sons of the earth and the city dwellers.
The level of Shetrunji Dam reached 32 feet 11 inches
Baldhia, the officer on duty at the dam, said while giving information that there is a continuous flow of water from the upstream, today the dam is 90 percent full by night. The inflow of 8117 cusecs of water started from 12:39 pm in the late night which increased to 29615 cusecs from 7 am due to which the level of the dam is now 32 feet. 11 inches have been reached, still the torrential flow of water from upstream is coming incessantly due to which the dam is likely to overflow by evening.
