Porbandar district is witnessing rainy weather for the last two days. After heavy rain was recorded in Kutiana taluka yesterday, torrential rain is being seen in Porbandar taluka today. Talking about the rainfall in Porbandar district, 158 mm of rain was recorded in Porbandar taluka from 6 am to 6 pm today, 64 mm in Ranawav taluka and 59 mm in Kutiana taluka.

Due to heavy rains, most of the roads in Porbandar city were flooded, while low-lying areas like Kumbharwada, Virdiplot and Khadi Kantha areas faced waterlogging at many places. Along with this, there were incidents of waterlogging on the main roads of the city. Even the newly constructed storm water drainage system by the Porbandar Chhaya Municipality could not properly dispose of the six inches of rain, and the city was flooded everywhere.

On the other hand, the villages of Porbandar’s Ghed division also received heavy rain since morning. As per forecast of heavy rain in Porbandar district by Meteorological Department, universal rain was seen in Porbandar district.
