The raid operation has been started by PGVCL from the beginning of the third week of July after the month of June. Today, for the third consecutive day in Rajkot city, electricity checking has been carried out by 44 different teams in the area of ​​Bedinaka and Pradyumannagar sub division under Rajkot City Circle Division 2 from early morning by the corporate team of PGVCL. It may be mentioned that, in two days, 1738 connections were checked and electricity theft of 42.82 lakhs has been detected out of 208 connections.

Total 4 feeders covered
An intensive campaign is being conducted regarding electricity checking in Rajkot urban area. With the beginning of the third week starting July after the month of June, an exercise has been started to speed up electricity theft in the areas including Momin Society, Rajivnagar, Bajrangwadi, Bhomeshwar, Vavadi, Nehrunagar, Bhaktinagar and Shyamnagar from early morning today for the third consecutive day in Rajkot urban area. In which total 4 feeders are covered. A total of 4 videographers, 15 local police, 20 retired armymen and 15 SRPs have been included in today’s checking drive.

Electricity theft of 43 lakhs was caught in two days

In the last two days, 1738 connections have been checked and electricity theft of 42.82 lakh has been detected out of 208 connections. In which 896 connections were checked on the first day, electricity theft of 25.57 lakhs from 107 connections and 17.25 lakhs from 101 connections on the second day yesterday, 842 connections were checked.

Electricity theft of more than 1.30 crore in 5 days
It may be mentioned that, during the second week of last June, PGVCL raided the urban area for 5 days and caught more than 1.30 crore electricity theft in 5 days. In which estimated more than 2000 connections were checked and electricity theft was speeded up from more than 450 connections. While even during the month of May, a total of more than 1 crore 14 lakh electricity theft was detected from Rajkot city.
