Second round of rain is currently going on in the state. Yesterday there was heavy rain in Saurashtra-Kutch and North Gujarat. Even today Meghraja Het is raining in North Gujarat for the fifth day in a row. The districts including Patan, Banaskantha, Mehsana, Sabarkantha and Aravalli are receiving moderate rainfall. While the Dantiwada dam is 70 percent full due to heavy rains in Rajasthan and uplands. Many villages in the low-lying areas have been alerted.
The water level in Dantiwada dam reached 594 feet
Dantiwada Dam has received a lot of water due to heavy rains in Rajasthan and uplands. At present the water level in Dantiwada Dam has reached 594 feet. The dangerous surface of this dam is 604 bursts. Many low-lying villages including Bhadath, Morthal Gulalaya, Chandaji Gulalaya and Ranpur on the banks of the Dam and Banasandi have been alerted to avoid any damage if a situation arises where water has to be released.
Alert to 56 villages of Patan district as well
56 villages of Patan district have also been alerted due to overflowing water in Dantiwada Dam. In which 02 villages of Saraswati taluka, 26 villages of Radhanpur, 09 villages of Santalpur and 19 villages of Sami taluka have been alerted and the people of low-lying villages have been instructed to evacuate.
Chhadwadar village of Dhoraji drowned two youths
In Chhadwadar village of Dhoraji taluk of Rajkot district, the incident of two youths being dragged into water has come to light. Due to the heavy rain yesterday, two youths were trapped in the rushing stream of water. Out of which one of the youth was saved by holding the electricity pole. While another young man was stretched forward in the water, the system was informed by the villagers. Due to which, the search of the youth has been carried out by the disaster team. However, more than 12 hours have passed, still the youth has not been found and the search is being carried out.
Batting with rain in Pawi
It has been raining in Chhota Udepur district since early morning. Meghraja has batted with a bang since morning in Pawi. Due to the heavy rain in the early morning, life has been disrupted. An atmosphere has been created as if the night is about to get dark. The village has been divided into two parts due to the overflow of water in the Dudhwal valley. So students were stuck in Kochwad village of Kawant taluka due to river water. So, there has been an overflow of Raj Vasa on both banks of Heran river in the district.
Flood-like conditions in Upaleta
On the other hand, water-bombing conditions are also being seen in Upaleta due to heavy rains. After Monday and on Tuesday too, a water-bombing situation is being seen in Upaleta Panthak. In Kathrota village of Upleta taluka, a feeling of grief is being seen among the herdsmen who came across the incident of a buffalo being strangled in the rushing stream of water.

Rain was reported in 167 talukas in the state yesterday. Talod and Idar in Sabarkantha received more than five and a half inches of rain, Lunawada and Veerpar also received five inches of rain. In Sabarkanth, fields were turned into bats and the entire Itadara village of Mansa was turned into bats. Apart from this, water entered people’s houses in Bagawas. 6 animals died in Junagadh. The waters of the Ojat river had inundated the entire Gheda parish. So, three students who took a bath in the lake in Kakarage, Banaskantha, died after drowning.
Five children died after drowning
Yesterday in Sabarkantha district, while Meghraja was batting stormy, Talod Panthak received a quarter of 6 inches of rain in 12 hours. Rivers, canals, lakes were flooded due to rain. When 8000 cusecs of water was released from Gorthia Dam, villages including Mohanpura, Kathwara were put on high alert. So the incident of death of three students of Fatepura Primary School in Kakarage, Banaskantha came to light. Three students including two cousins who were returning home from school had to bathe in the lake. Then all three died after drowning. So the incident of father and son strangling in the river near Danta Rangpur came to light. While two children of the same village who had to bathe in Mahisagar also died due to drowning.
Heavy rains in Kheralu, more than 15 villages without connectivity
More than 4 inches of rain fell in just 3 hours yesterday in Kheralu of Mehsana. Due to which only water was seen in the entire parish. All the roads in Kheralu city were flooded due to landslides. Also, vehicular traffic had to be stopped due to water filling in the underbridge. More than 20 villages of Kheralu Pathanka became uncontactable. Rupen river passing near Kheralu is flowing on two banks. So the people had to face a lot of trouble when the houses in the low-lying areas were flooded. On the other hand, there was heavy rain in Bijapur as well. So many areas were flooded. Also the farmers were turned into bats. Due to which there is fear of loss in cotton and groundnut crops.
The water of Ojat river created desolation in Ghed Panthak
On Monday, it rained incessantly in Junagadh district. Due to which the situation of Ghed Panthak became very difficult. The Ojat river flooded the entire Ghed district following heavy rains in the upper reaches. Osaghed, Padardi, Bagsara, Balagam and other villages of Mangarol taluka were flooded by Ojat river. So people’s lives were saved with the help of JCB. On the other hand, Matiana village of Manavadar taluka was turned into a bat as water entered the farmers’ fields. The waters of Uben and Ojat rivers entered Matiana village.
A quarter of six inches of rain fell in Eder
There was heavy rain in Sabarkantha district yesterday. There was heavy rain especially in Talod and Idar. A quarter of six inches of rain fell in Eider. Apart from this, 59 talukas of the state received one to six and a half inches of rain.
