In the vicinity of Lotarwa village of Vyara taluk, the cub fell into a well in the field of a farmer due to the temptation of hunting. The Vyara Forest Department was informed about the matter and immediately reached the spot and rescued the leopard cub. However, the cub ran away towards the farm as soon as it came out. Due to the presence of a family of leopards in the area, the villagers demanded that a cage be placed to catch the leopards in the area.
A leopard cub fell into a well in a farmer’s field on the outskirts of Lotarwa village of Vyara taluk while being tempted to hunt. The farm owner Kamleshbhai Patel informed the Vyara Forest Department RFO Anil Prajapati who immediately sent a team to rescue the incident. At 6:30 a team of forest department and wccb used nets and wood to pull the cub out of the well.
Within half an hour, the one-and-a-half-year-old leopard cub escaped through the net and wood into the farm area. On the other hand, there is an atmosphere of fear among the villagers due to the fear that a family of leopards is moving in Lotarwa area. The villagers demanded that the forest department conduct a necessary survey in this area and put a cage to catch the leopard.
