The police force has stepped up to control the liquor business in Jamnagar city and district, and five men from Jamnagar and Jodi who have been caught in liquor cases on more than one occasion, have been jailed.
A man named Ashok alias Mirchi Khataumal Mange living in Digvijay Plot area in Jamnagar has been arrested and sent to Ahmedabad Jail as 13 liquor offenses and five gambling offenses have been registered against him.
Apart from this, Lakhabhai alias Lakh Dalubhai Gadhvi residing in Mayur Nagar area of Jamnagar has been booked against three cases of liquor, four cases of gambling, two cases of fighting and two cases of violation of public notice. So the weapon of dice was raised against him too, and he has been thrown in Palanpur jail. Mayur alias Milo Karsanbhai Bhatia, who lives in Mayurnagar area, has been arrested and sent to Surat Jail as four offenses of liquor prohibition, one of gambling, one of assault and two of advertisement have been registered against him.
Sunil Karshanbhai Bhatia, originally from Dwarka taluk and now living in Mahadev Nagar area of Jamnagar, has been booked against 2 cases of liquor ban violation, 3 cases of gambling act, 2 cases of assault and 1 other public violation. Apart from this Brijrajsingh Khumansingh Jhala, a native of Pithad village of Jodia taluka, has also been detained under custody and sent to Nadiad jail as a case of gambling has been registered against him.
