EPFO Deadline Extended: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the last date for applying for higher pension till July 11. Earlier, the Employees Provident Fund had given the last chance to apply for higher pension till June 26, 2023.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the last date for submission of applications for opting for higher pension till July 11. This is the second time that the deadline for applying for the higher pension option has been extended. Earlier it was extended from May 3, 2023 to June 26, 2023.
EPF Only certain members of can apply
But, now you have to compulsorily apply by July 11 to get higher pension. However, higher pension plans are not for everyone. According to the decision given by the Supreme Court on November 4, only some EPF members can apply.
The last date has been extended twice
Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has informed those eligible for higher pension that they should apply as soon as possible, otherwise you will not be entitled to higher pension after the last date. It has been extended twice by EPFO. In such a situation, it seems less likely to proceed.
EPFOA circular has been issued
As for how you can apply for higher pension, EPFO has issued several circulars on how employees can apply for higher pension from EPS. The Pension Fund Institute has introduced an online link on the Member Services Portal to submit its joint application form. You must have some important documents while applying.
The deadline was extended several times
In fact, users were demanding EPFO to extend the deadline for opting for higher pension. Following the Supreme Court’s decision in November last year, EPFO had given 4 months time to people to opt for this option. After that, the facility to apply for higher pension was extended till May 3. Later, EPFO once again extended the deadline to June 26.
