The 2020 Rath Yatra raced till the last minute
For the first time in the history, in the year 2020, Lord Jagannath performed the Nagarcharya only around the temple. Because, the corona period was going on that year. Hence only 110 to 120 people were present in the Rath Yatra. No glimpse of bhajan mandali, trucks, arena was seen. Every year about 200 to 500 sadhus-saints arrive from the country. But only three to four Mahants were invited in the 2020 Rath Yatra. At that time the mahant of Jagannath temple Dilipadasji was angry with the government and there was a rush till the last minute and at night the Rath Yatra was diverted around the temple on the orders of the High Court.

In 2021, the Rath Yatra was completed in 3.40 hours
The 144th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath started in 2022 amid Corona in Ahmedabad city. The Rath Yatra which started at 7:10 AM was completed at 10:50 AM. The traditional ritual started with Mangala Aarti from 4 am. The then Chief Minister Vijay Rupani started the Rath Yatra by performing the traditional Pahinda ceremony with a golden broom in the temple premises. Her chariot journey was over in just two hours. Then at 10:50 minutes, the three chariots reached Nijmandir, where former Minister of State for Home Affairs Pradeep Singh Jadeja welcomed the chariots. At 10.46 hrs the first chariot returned to Jagannathji followed by Subhadraji’s chariot at 10.49 hrs and brother Balaram’s chariot returned to the temple at 10.51 hrs.

Every year, Lord Jagannath goes on a pilgrimage in Ahmedabad on Ashadi Bija day. But due to the corona epidemic, God’s chariot procession went without devotees for two consecutive years. In 2022, the 145th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath was organized by Jamalpur Jagannath Temple on July 1, 2022. In which there was a Rath Yatra with Bhajan Mandali, Akhara, trucks giving an overview of Indian culture.
