A team of 30 men from the Ahmedabad Fire Brigade has been dispatched to Kutch district for relief following Cyclone Biporjoy. A team of 30 people along with 2 emergency tender vehicles, 7 boats and 4 vehicles will go for the relief operation. 30 fire personnel including Additional Chief Fire Officer will go to Kutch tonight with rescue boats and sophisticated equipment.
A team of 30 fire personnel including Deputy Chief Officer Kaizad Dastur led by Ahmedabad Fire Brigade Additional Chief Fire Officer Mithun Mistry has been instructed to go to Kutch district. Due to which the team will leave for Kutch from Navrangpura fire station tonight. Ahmedabad Fire Brigade has state-of-the-art equipment like hydraulic operated spreaders, cutters with wooden, slabs and Aryans to help with any type of disaster. There are combi tools and pneumatic bags. The emergency tender vehicle has a 6 KV generator machine with which the tree cutting operation is done by electric cutter machines.
When any building collapses or there is a work to move the debris, there are different machines including equipment through which the debris is removed and the work is done. Up to 10 electric cutter machines can work simultaneously. With this, if any road is blocked due to falling trees, the tree can be cut and the road can be opened immediately.
Rubber boats and fiber boats are kept with the fire brigade. There are equipments like rope, rescue line, guide line, safety belt, life boat jacket, life buoy rain for rescue operation in water. Because of this, when rescue from water or moving from one place to another place is to be done, it can be done quickly.
