14th June is World Voluntary Blood Donor Day. Blood which even today’s modern science has not been able to produce artificially. Thousands of people donate blood every year during Navsari. For which blood donation camps are organized by many organizations. While there are people in Navsari who donate blood despite being disabled. Such blood donors are becoming an inspiration to others. Indian Red Cross Society has been functioning in Navsari for the past 50 years. Through which lakhs of donors have till now donated their precious blood to many people.

Among these donors, there are also special people who save life to others by donating blood despite being disabled. Around 650 units of blood have been donated through 146 disabled blood donors over the years. In which 17 blood donors have donated blood more than 10 times. These disabled blood donors are motivating healthy people to donate blood.

While our blood saves many lives, it is necessary for people to donate blood to save the lives of others. Blood donation is usually painless and does not cause any side effects or illness to the donor. But the fear of needles sometimes makes a person dizzy or nervous, but a blood donor with strong morale pays his debt to the society by donating blood on time.

Mohta Ghanshyam 69, Patel Ramesh 44, Patel Dilip 36, Patel Pramod 22, Rana Harish 20, Rana Nilesh 18, Tandel Makin 16, Patel Parshottam 13, Nayaka Ashok 13, Parekh Meetesh 12, Mistry Rohit 11, Patel Jitesh 11, Rajput Mehul 11, Patel Nikita 11 and Bhat Pinakin donated blood 11 times.

The campaign theme for World Blood Donor Day 2023 is: Donate Blood, Donate Plaza, Share Life, Share Offen. The theme focuses on patients who require life-long transfusion support and emphasizes the role that everyone can play by donating the precious gift of blood or plasma. It also highlights the importance of regularly donating blood or plasma to create a safe and sustainable supply of blood and blood products, which can be readily available around the world, so that all patients in need can receive timely treatment.
