Wind speed increases in Mehsana after 60 years after Cyclone Biporjoy hits near Jakhou port in Kutch

According to the bulletin released by the Indian Meteorological Department at 2.30 pm on Monday, Cyclone Biporjoy has moved towards the north after covering a distance of only 8 km in the last 6 hours. In view of this, the cyclone has reached the Arabian Sea 430 km away from the Jakhou port of Kutch, where it is likely to make landfall on June 15 afternoon.

As the cyclone makes landfall in the afternoon on June 15, its impact is likely to be seen over North Gujarat as the cyclone moves in a north-easterly direction. For which one team of SDRF has been deployed in Banaskantha and Patan districts. 2.5 to 8 inches of rain is likely to occur in North Gujarat on June 15 and 16 with strong winds of 45 to 65 km per hour and thundershowers.

After 60 years, a cyclone will hit Jakhou in Kutch On 12 June 1964, a cyclone formed in the Arabian Sea made landfall 20 km from the port of Jakhou in Kutch. Meanwhile, strong winds blew at a speed of 135 km in Nalia, 105 km in Dwarka, 74 km in Porbandar and 83 km in Veraval. In which 27 people were killed, a ship named Kadia was lost between Veraval and Porbandar and the railway track was washed away.

Cyclone Sai likely to hit Banaskantha and Patan, 500 villagers evacuated from desert

The laborers and truck drivers currently working on filling salt from 55 agars in the small desert of Kutch near Santalpur have been evacuated. About 30 agars are likely to have around 100 laborers. Withdrawal till Tuesday afternoon, along with entry into the desert.
All officers and employees of Patan and Banaskantha districts have been ordered not to leave the head quarters till June 16.

In Patan district, a team of SDRF has been kept on stand by at Radhanpur, while in Banaskantha, SRP has been put on stand by at Camp Madana.
19 teams of the power company have been made operational in Patan and 40 in Banaskantha. Mehsana, Sabarkantha teams have been called.

Rope way closed for 4 days in Ambaji
The District Collector instructed to keep Udankhatola in Ambaji closed for four days from 13th to 16th. As a result of which the Udankhatola on Gabbar mountain was closed for 4 days and could not transport the devotees.

Chance of thunderstorms
Heavy winds of 40 to 50 km per hour are likely to blow in North Gujarat from June 13 to 15. While on June 16, Patan, Banaskantha, Mehsana and Sabarkantha districts will experience wind gusts of 45 to 65 km per hour, while Aravalli district will experience gusts of 40 to 50 km per hour.

Rain forecast
2.4 mm to 2.5 inches of rain likely over North Gujarat on June 13 and 14. While on June 15 and 16, Mehsana, Patan, Banaskantha and Sabarkantha districts may receive two and a half inches to 8 inches of rain. Aravalli district is likely to receive up to 2.5 inches of rain on June 15 and 2.5 to 4.5 inches on June 16.

Monsoons will not be affected by cyclones
