Mehsana’s preference changes as fuel prices rise 3.53% increase in electric vehicle purchases
  • Purchases of petrol-CNG vehicles fell the most by 6.06%, followed by petrol vehicle purchases by 2.38%.
  • 48,386 vehicles were purchased in the district in one year, 12603 four-wheelers, 30694 two-wheelers.

People of Mehsana district are changing their choice in buying vehicles due to the rising price of petrol-diesel. In terms of fuel-efficient vehicle purchases in 2022-23 as compared to 2019-20, petrol-CNG vehicle purchases recorded the highest decline of 6.06%. Also, there has been a decline in petrol vehicle purchases by 2.38% and diesel vehicle purchases by 0.79%. While there has been an increase of 5% in the purchase of CNG vehicles and 3.53% in the purchase of electric vehicles.

A total of 47,454 vehicles were purchased by people in the district in 2019-20. Out of which 74.63% vehicles were petrol, 13.06% diesel vehicles, 11.44% petrol-CNG vehicles, 0.15% CNG vehicles and 0.01% electric vehicles.

While 72.25% petrol vehicles, 12.27% diesel vehicles, 5.38% petrol-CNG vehicles, 5.15% CNG vehicles and 3.54% electric vehicles have been purchased in 2022-23 out of a total of 48,386 vehicles. The total in the district was 47454 in 2019-20, 32822 in 2020-21 and 2021-2021. 37534 vehicles were purchased in 22. Against this, 48,386 vehicles have been purchased in the last year. In which 12,603 four-wheelers and 30,694 two-wheelers have been purchased. In 2019-20, the most 31507 two-wheelers were purchased.
