Apple Resolves iPhone’s BMW Charging Bug with iOS 17.1.1
Apple has rolled out a new iPhone update, and it comes with welcome news for BMW owners.
The iOS 17.1.1 update specifically addresses a peculiar bug that previously disabled the phone’s NFC chip following wireless charging in a BMW. While it may seem like a minor issue, it caused considerable inconvenience for some BMW owners who found themselves unable to utilize Apple Pay or access their digital car key after charging their phone. What made matters worse was that the problem persisted even after a factory reset of the phone.
Additionally, this iOS update tackles another minor bug in which the Weather widget on the Lock Screen inaccurately displayed snow.
Apple’s focus on bug fixes doesn’t stop with iOS. The company has also extended updates to iPadOS, which now stands at version 17.1.1, and macOS Sonoma, which has been upgraded to version 14.1.1. These updates address a range of unspecified issues and bugs.
Not to be left out, Apple’s HomePod has also received attention with its new version, 17.1.1. The updated software addresses a bug that previously caused the HomePod to respond slowly or fail to complete user requests.
Lastly, the Apple Watch has not been overlooked. The watchOS software has been updated to version 10.1.1, specifically designed to resolve a battery drain issue that some users encountered after upgrading to watchOS 10.1.
With these updates, Apple continues to refine the user experience across its range of devices, providing fixes for various issues to ensure a smoother and more reliable operation.
